Who We Are

We are Uwezo Tanzania, derived from the Swahili word meaning "capability," a Non-Governmental Organization operating in Tanzania, with registration number 00NGO/R/09001.

Dedicated to improving the quality of education for children and youth in Tanzania by conducting nationwide assessments, fostering public awareness, and community engagement. We invest in designing, testing, and scaling evidence-based interventions that improve learning and livelihoods.

Our focus is on literacy and numeracy, early childhood development, mental health awareness, essential life skills, digital literacy, climate change education, and gender equity.

We are committed to inclusivity and community engagement, striving to ensure all children and youth receive quality education tailored to their diverse needs — empowering communities to advocate for better learning outcomes across Tanzania.
